The combination of two materials with different properties is the way not only to maximum load, but also to the independent choice of the principle of operation of the dowel according to the building material in which it is currently installed - whether it folds, opens or knots. The flared wings of the red part help the grey, stiffer part of the dowel to function properly. The screw is easy to screw in, but when tightening you can feel the dowel pulling well and the collar prevents the dowel from fitting into the drilled hole.
