Many applications require articulated bearings that are suitable for oscillatory movements and that are capable of withstanding misalignments. Rolling bearings can only partially meet these requirements because they are designed for constant rotational motion and can only transfer limited magnitudes of misalignment. Therefore, SKF manufactures spherical plain bearings, spherical plain rod ends and plain bushings that provide economical solutions to meet these requirements. Spherical plain bearings, spherical plain bearings and sliding sleeves SKF are manufactured in many different versions and different combinations of sliding surfaces. Each design and combination is characterised by distinctive features that make them particularly suitable for certain applications.
